Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I serves as a member of the Client Services Support Unit (CSSU) and is the administrator for the department's ITSM systems (Footprints/ServiceNow) and provides complex analytical and technical support for administering department incident, change, configuration, and asset management systems. The incumbent will provide direct assistance and services to departmental staff experiencing problems with their computers and computing systems, associated printers, network connections, and software. Other duties shall include acting as project lead and serving as a team member working in support of complex technology projects, and performing independent research and other related duties as required.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and requires the incumbent to report to the office five days a week. This position is not eligible for telework.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

3+ years’ experience providing technical support in an IT Service Desk environment.

3+ years’ experience with desktop management systems and automated computer imaging solutions.

1 year experience of Service Now and maintenance of an Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system.

1 year experience with desktop management systems and automated computer imaging solutions.
