Infrastructure Engineer

Note: Our office hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to keep pace with our UK office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure Management
• Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines across cloud platforms.
• Design and maintain instance groups, load balancing setups, and infrastructure templates for scalability and resilience.
• Configure and manage VPC networks, subnets, and firewall rules to ensure secure and segmented environments.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for consistent and automated deployments (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager).
• Monitor performance, optimize costs, and troubleshoot issues across cloud environments.
• Cloudflare Administration
• Configure and maintain DNS, page rules, cache rules, and snippets to optimize site performance and traffic flow.
• Implement and manage Cloudflare WAF, Zero Trust, and bot management to secure applications.
• Manage Cloudflare Workers for edge logic and automation.
• Leverage Log Analytics for insights into traffic, performance, and security events.
• Server & Application Management
• Install, configure, and maintain Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux systems.
• Perform server patching, system hardening, and configuration management.
• Deploy and manage NGINX web servers, MySQL databases, and Redis caching systems.
• Implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies for critical services.
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Networking & Security
• Configure and manage VLANs, subnetting, and routing.
• Administer and secure pfSense firewalls.
• Design and maintain Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and security.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, latency, and bottlenecks.
• Apply best practices in network security, VPNs, and access control.
• Documentation & Standards
• Document all infrastructure processes and configurations.
• Create and maintain SOPs for routine tasks, incident handling, and change management.
• Ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with operational standards.
• Operations & Support
• Provide Tier 2/3 infrastructure support and incident resolution.
• Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering roles.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure) are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Core Technical Skills

• Cloud Infrastructure: Virtual machines, instance groups, load balancing, templates, VPC networks, subnets, firewall rules.
• Cloudflare Services: DNS, WAF, Zero Trust, Workers, Log Analytics, page rules, cache rules, snippets, bot management.
• Operating Systems: Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux; server patching and hardening.
• Services & Applications: NGINX, MySQL, Redis, configuration management.
• Networking: VLANs, subnetting, routing, pfSense firewalls, Wi-Fi setup.

Additional Skills

• Automation & IaC: Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Monitoring & Observability: Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.
• Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation and system management.
• Security Practices: Identity and access management, VPNs, SSL/TLS, SIEM integration.
• Process Documentation: Ability to produce clear SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs250,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
