To support the training and recruitment of local and international Master's and Ph.D. students in the Biomedical Sciences Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), we are seeking highly motivated candidates for Instructional Faculty Member positions (all ranks). The Instructional Faculty complements the Division's teaching and recruitment activities. In particular, the Instructional Faculty will teach cross-divisional quantitative courses for students with a background in bioscience, bioengineering, and engineering. Annual student cohorts may reach up to 100 students, and the instructor is expected to incorporate the latest best-practice teaching methods to engage a diverse student population consisting of roughly equal numbers of highly motivated international and Saudi students.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- To develop and teach up to three courses annually—ranging from biostatistics, bioinformatics, to modern AI at the advanced undergraduate or early graduate (M.S.) levels, specifically designed for cohorts without formal training in computer science, statistics, or mathematics.
- To contribute to designing and administering an entry assessment test for incoming M.S. students.
- To assist in student recruitment by conducting standardized academic admission interviews and preparing reports for the divisional faculty admissions committees.
