Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates for an Instructor of Health Promotion, Education and Behavior (HPEB) and Director of the Health Coaching Program. This is a full-time 9-month professional-track faculty position directly reporting to the Division Chair of Mathematics, Sciences, Nursing, and Public Health. The opportunity to fund summer salary through grant funding is available for this position. The expected start date is January 1, 2026 or August 16, 2026.

This position is responsible for teaching three (3) courses (nine-credit hours per semester). There is also oversight for accreditation documentation, complete program evaluations, monitoring student progression, and assisting in marketing the program to potential degree and non-degree seeking students.


Required Education and Experience
Minimum qualifications include a Master of Public Health or Community Health Education and National Board Health and Wellness Coach Certification. (NBC-HWC).

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) credentials. Candidates with grant management and grant writing experience are preferred.
