Physical Education/Health Teacher

HOPE Community Academy is an accredited, public co-educational charter school comprised of primary, intermediate, and middle school levels. We are looking for a Physical Education/Health Teacher who is positive, energetic, and can educate and motivate students to learn and grow and fulfill their academic potential base on HOPE’s instructional curriculum.

• Flexibility to interact effectively with students, parents, and other school staff, the administration, and community members of diverse ethnic/racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to collaborate with grade level teachers, paraprofessionals, and tutors regarding instructional classroom activities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to plan and implement lesson plans base on school goals, as well as the objectives, and needs of students.
• Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations
• Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology, as appropriate.
• Knowledge of classroom management and organization

Qualifications:

• B.A/B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field of teaching
• Minnesota State Licensure in teaching in Physical Education and Health Education
• Ideal candidate will have experience with teaching Health to high school students.

Working Environment for Teaching Positions:

Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment; school building is a multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible

• Position requires extensive interaction with children of all ages
• Duties may occasionally be performed on field trips away from school
• Duties may occasionally be performed in outdoor environments, such as athletic fields or playgrounds
• Duties may occasionally be performed in varying weather conditions, such as hot or cold weather.
• Possible exposure to loud and noisy locations (e.g. loud classrooms or cafeterias; children speaking or laughing loudly).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
