Instrumentation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment plants. The role involves design, installation support, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems for STP, WWTP, RO plants, desalination facilities, and pumping stations in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review instrumentation systems for water treatment facilities including flow, level, pressure, pH, turbidity, chlorine, conductivity, and analyzers.
  • Prepare and review instrument datasheets, specifications, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, hook-up drawings, and instrument index.
  • Develop and review P&IDs, control philosophies, and cause & effect matrices in coordination with process engineers.
  • Coordinate with PLC/SCADA, electrical, mechanical, and process teams.
  • Ensure compliance with QCS, IEC, ISA, and project specifications.
  • Review vendor technical submissions, FAT/SAT documents, and technical evaluations.
  • Support installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and handover documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering for water/wastewater treatment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of field instruments used in STP/WWTP and water treatment plants.
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and integration with instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Qatar projects, Ashghal standards, and QCS is an advantage.
