Position Title: Instrumentation Specialist
Reporting Line: TIC Manager
Role Overview
The Instrumentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate instrumentation design, selection, and integration across company projects. The role involves contributing to tender preparation, technical submittals, and coordination with suppliers, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure reliable and efficient process control solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in instrumentation design and selection for water and wastewater projects.
- Analyse process requirements and recommend appropriate instrumentation solutions based on technical and commercial criteria.
- Draft, review, and interpret P&ID diagrams, instrumentation layouts, and control philosophies.
- Prepare datasheets, technical submittals, and vendor evaluations.
- Support tendering activities through technical input and documentation.
- Review and evaluate supplier/contractor proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure proper integration of process instrumentation into control systems.
- Contribute to control panel design, instrument wiring, and field installation practices.
- Perform field wiring checks, loop checks, and signal verification.
- Support commissioning activities including troubleshooting and functional testing.
- Maintain detailed documentation including instrument index, loop diagrams, calibration sheets, and inspection reports.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in field instrumentation, preferably within water and wastewater projects.
- Strong knowledge of process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, temperature, analytical).
- Proficiency in preparing and interpreting P&IDs, control philosophies, and instrumentation drawings.
- Hands-on experience in product selection, datasheet preparation, and vendor evaluation.
- Knowledge of field installation practices, wiring, and loop checks.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Experience in site commissioning, troubleshooting, and functional testing (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related engineering field.
- Familiarity with international standards and specifications (ISA, IEC, etc.).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Compensation
- Salary starts from KWD 750 per month (based on experience and qualifications).
