Job Summary

The Insulation Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for thermal insulation works in oil & gas maintenance projects. Exposure to IPS / SPIR scopes (Painting and Scaffolding) is considered an added advantage for integrated maintenance contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and BOQs for thermal insulation works.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and client standards.
• Conduct site visits to assess insulation conditions and verify quantities.
• Develop rate analysis for insulation manpower, materials, cladding, and consumables.
• Coordinate with procurement for material and subcontractor quotations.
• Support preparation of technical and commercial tender submissions.
• Prepare variation and additional work estimates during contract execution.
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure estimate accuracy and constructability.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, HSE standards, and client specifications.
• Maintain estimation records, historical cost data, and pricing models.
• Interface with IPS / SPIR teams where combined scopes are involved.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in thermal insulation estimation for oil & gas maintenance projects.
• Strong knowledge of hot, cold, cryogenic, and acoustic insulation systems.
• Understanding of insulation materials, cladding systems, and industry standards.
• Working exposure to IPS / SPIR contracts is an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Excel and estimation tools.
• Familiarity with Qatar / GCC oil & gas clients is preferred.
