Job Summary

The Intensivist is a specialist physician responsible for the clinical management of critically ill patients. You will lead the multidisciplinary ICU team, making rapid diagnostic and therapeutic decisions for patients with life-threatening conditions. This role extends beyond the ICU to include hospital-wide Rapid Response Teams (RRT) and Tele-ICU platforms.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership & Rounds: Lead daily "Multidisciplinary Rounds" (MDR), coordinating with nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and nutritionists to execute a cohesive care plan.
  • Life-Support Procedures: Expertly perform and supervise high-risk procedures:
  • Airway Management: Endotracheal intubation and difficult airway protocols.
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring: Insertion of central venous, arterial, and Swan-Ganz catheters.
  • Advanced Support: Management of mechanical ventilation, CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation).
  • Diagnostic Precision: Utilize POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound) and echocardiography for real-time assessment of shock and respiratory failure.
  • Triage & Consultation: Act as a consultant for the Emergency Department and general wards to determine ICU admissions and lead resuscitation efforts.
  • Family Communication: Lead complex "Goals of Care" discussions, providing empathy and clarity to families regarding prognosis and end-of-life decisions.

3. Required Qualifications

  • Education: Medical Degree (MD/DO) or equivalent (MBBS).
  • Residency: Completion of residency in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, or Surgery.
  • Fellowship: Completion of an accredited fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Certifications: Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support).

  • Quality Metrics: Minimal rates of VAP (Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia) and CLABSI (Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
