Interior Design Internship

Interior design firm Maggie Richmond Design is looking for a Fall intern to work alongside the Principal to help conceive, define and execute residential projects in and around New York City. The candidate will be included in all phases of project development including, but not limited to: design, documentation, vendor correspondence, sample management, product specification, and installation.

Internship Opportunities include, but are not limited to:

-Creation of floor plans, elevations and renderings.
-Communicating with key vendors, suppliers & clients.
-Assist in creation of client presentations, design concepts, space planning etc.
-Assist with project logistics including budget tracking, purchasing and delivery/scheduling of renovation and installation dates etc.
-Sourcing requesting quotes, processing & tracking orders with vendors and contractors.
-Researching new products and vendors.
-Support principal in client meetings, with administrative duties and business related errands.
-Shopping for fabrics, finishes, fixtures & furniture at D&D Building/ NYDC et al.
-Organize and maintain fabric library.
-On-site work, including taking dimensions, progress photos and notes, and tabulation.
-Assisting team during client and special project installation dates.
-Assisting principal with project photo shoot preparation and styling.

Internship Requirements include:

-Candidates should possess a high level of professionalism. Our firm works with high profile clients and this is a must.

-The ideal candidate has excellent follow-through, positive attitude, strong communication skills, keen attention to detail, organizational skills, multi-tasking and independent problem-solving skills.

-Autocad and photoshop capabilities are a must. Sketchup, Rhino and/or other 3-D/Rendering skills are a bonus!

-Interest and success with social media platforms is a plus but not required.

This is a part time position for between 1-3 days per week. We are located on the Upper East Side and also work out of a space in Flatiron. Some travel may be involved, but all travel expenses are reimbursable.
