Remote | Flexible Schedule | Contract (1099) Ongoing Support | 10-20 Hours a Month (averaging 2–5 Hours per Week) | Ongoing Support

Design Evolution Group is a boutique interior design and planning studio built on the belief that thoughtful design and strong systems go hand in hand.

We are looking for a Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks Online experience to support the financial side of the studio. This role is ideal for someone who values accuracy, organization, and working within a well-structured environment.

You will work directly with the owner in a collaborative, respectful partnership where your expertise is trusted and your role is an important part of keeping the business running smoothly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online

Create and manage invoices for design services and product purchases

Record and apply client payments

Process vendor invoices and manage expense documentation

Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations

Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation

Assist with payroll and tax documentation as needed

Prepare and maintain internal reports using QuickBooks data and update existing studio tracking tools (e.g., invoice tracking, project productivity, and Studio Pulse reporting).

AS THE STUDIO GROWS

As internal systems continue to strengthen, this role will also support the financial side of product purchasing, including:

Recording vendor invoices for furnishings and materials

Organizing procurement-related documentation

Supporting tracking of product purchases and associated costs

Assisting with sales tax documentation related to goods

YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU…

Have strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and can move confidently within the platform

Have hands-on experience keeping books clean, accurate, and up to date

Are comfortable working within established processes and following through without constant oversight

Notice when something is off and take initiative to investigate or ask questions

Are naturally detail-oriented and take pride in accurate, thoughtful work

Communicate clearly and proactively when something needs attention

Bonus if you’ve worked with project-based businesses (interior design, construction, architecture, etc.) or are familiar with tools like Asana, OneDrive, SharePoint, or Teams. Candidates located in the Cincinnati / Dayton area are a plus but not required.

Includes 1–2 short weekly check-ins (15–30 minutes)

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate commensurate with experience
