JOB TITLE

Interior Designer - Furniture

ROLE SUMMARY

The Interior Designer will be responsible for providing design services to help customers choose materials and furnishings and ensuring that budget, schedule and client expectations are met from time of project inception to owner occupancy.

ROLE PROFILE

• Determine the client's goals and requirements of the project. Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures. Search for and bid on new projects.
• Consider how the space will be used. Prepare final plans, using computer applications. Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs.
• Place orders for materials and oversee installing the design elements. Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans. Responsible for cultivating and marketing to new clients and maintaining existing client relationships.
• Set costs and project fees according to budget. Ensure that the highest levels of customer service are delivered at all times. Ensure awareness and understanding of product range knowledge, sharing the information with customers to encourage sales. Communicate effectively.
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer need in other Majid Al Futtaim Fashion brands and stores, if not available in-store.
• Visit client's home after the project is complete to ensure that the client is satisfied.
• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams such as Sales Associates, Buyers and Visual Merchandisers to strengthen internal customer relationships.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs.
• Creativity.
• Communication and presentation skills.
• BS degree in Interior Design or similar.
• 2-3 years of experience in similar field.
