Role Overview

TheSmartObject is looking for a motivated Intern – Upwork Bidder / Project Catcher to join our Business Development team.

This in-house, job-ready internship is designed for individuals who want hands-on experience in:

  • Upwork bidding
  • Freelance sales
  • Client acquisition
  • Proposal writing

You’ll work in a real world environment, assisting with daily bidding activities under supervision, while receiving practical training, mentorship, and a clear growth path toward a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search and identify relevant projects on Upwork and other freelancing platforms
  • Assist in drafting and submitting proposals
  • Communicate professionally with potential clients to understand project needs
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams for proposal preparation
  • Maintain records of bids, proposals, and client communications
  • Learn online bidding techniques, lead qualification, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, or related field
  • Fresh graduates and final-year students are highly encouraged to apply
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing, social media, or email marketing is a plus
  • Strong internet research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace

Skills & Competencies

  • Intermediate English communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Basic familiarity with freelancing platforms (Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer) is a plus
  • Interest in sales, bidding, and client acquisition
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • Motivated, confident, and eager to grow professionally

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience working with software houses or agencies
  • Understanding of project scopes, timelines, and budgets
  • Familiarity with CRM or lead tracking tools
