Internal Communication Specialist II

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Platforms & Channel Strategy
  • Own and manage Maverik’s internal communications infrastructure, including the Trailhead SharePoint intranet, enterprise email templates, and distribution channels to ensure consistent, effective messaging.
  • Optimize how communications are delivered across channels (intranet, email, and emerging platforms) to drive engagement and reach, including evaluating opportunities to scale tools across the enterprise.

Content & Leadership Communications
  • Develop and deliver leadership communications, including executive messaging, companywide updates, town hall materials, presentations, and talk tracks aligned with business priorities.
  • Manage the internal editorial calendar and coordinate content development and distribution to ensure timely, accurate, and aligned messaging.

Strategy, Measurement & Partnership
  • Establish and manage KPIs and analytics to measure communication effectiveness and continuously improve messaging and channel strategy.
  • Serve as a cross-functional partner to HR, IT, Operations, and leadership teams to support enterprise initiatives and change management efforts.
  • Ensure alignment between internal and external narratives for major initiatives, partnering with external communications teams as needed.

Engagement & Standards
  • Identify and develop storytelling opportunities that reinforce culture, leadership priorities, and Maverik’s brand.
  • Standardize communication practices through templates, messaging frameworks, and scalable processes that improve clarity and alignment.
  • Demonstrate continual curiosity and application of AI tools to create efficiencies and enhance engagement.

Role Requirements:
  • This role is cell phone stipend eligible and supports a 24/7 operation. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required to respond to urgent issues or service calls.

Qualifications: Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field


Qualifications: Experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in corporate, internal, or external communications
  • Experience managing internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, email templates), including content governance and user experience optimization.
  • Proven experience developing executive and leadership communications, including presentations, companywide messaging, and sensitive communications.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse internal audiences.
  • Experience establishing and using communication KPIs and analytics to measure effectiveness and inform strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally and support enterprise initiatives and change management.
  • Experience aligning internal and external communications strategies in partnership with external communications teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and content workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $80,000-$85,000/year + DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
