Intervention Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Intervention Specialist to join our dedicated team in supporting children with diverse developmental needs. In this role, you will design and implement individualized intervention plans, collaborate with families and educators, and utilize evidence-based strategies to foster growth in communication, social skills, academic achievement, and behavioral health. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tailored intervention plans based on individual assessments and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals for children with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy to support learning and behavior management.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to coordinate services and ensure consistency across settings.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor progress in areas such as literacy education, math skills, early childhood development, visual impairment education, and preschool or toddler care.
  • Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and learning technology tools to enhance educational outcomes.
  • Provide training and mentoring to educators and caregivers on classroom management, behavior management strategies, communication skills, and instructional design.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, progress reports, behavioral data collection, and compliance with legal requirements such as IEPs.
  • Support children’s social-emotional development through behavioral health initiatives and child welfare practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, early childhood education, psychology, speech therapy or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or sensory impairments such as visual or hearing impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods for diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging families effectively.
  • Experience designing lesson plans that incorporate instructional design principles and learning technology tools.
  • Ability to perform detailed documentation including IEP development, progress monitoring, proofing educational materials, and maintaining compliance records.
  • Certification or training in applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral health practices or related therapies is a plus. Pay: $35,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
