Location: Mankato, Minnesota - onsite

Position Summary:
Power Systems is the Rolls-Royce business which provides world-class power solutions and complete life-cycle support under our product and solution brand mtu. Through digitalisation and electrification, we strive to develop drive and power generation solutions that provide answers to the challenges posed by the rapidly growing societal demands for energy and mobility.
We deliver and service comprehensive, powerful and reliable systems, based on both gas and diesel engines, as well as electrified hybrid systems. These technologically advanced solutions serve our customers in the marine and infrastructure sectors worldwide.
As an Inventory Control Intern, you’ll support a variety of functions related to inventory management. You’ll coordinate data collection and analysis with internal departments, including Logistics, Purchasing and Material Replenishment. You’ll also help develop and implement improved standards and processes to reduce excess handling, damage, transportation inefficiencies and overprocessing.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Utilize external supplier data to improve efficiency in packaging, deliveries and optimal order quantity selection
  • Provide insight and develop essential inventory functions including but not limited to; PlanForEveryPart Database, Controlled Inventory Levels, FIFO, Improved Inventory Turns and visibility and identification
  • Support the development of company standards as well as assist in processes involving Just-In-Time deliveries, Kanban systems and Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI). Assist in developing standards for delivery quantity’s, packaging types and containers
  • Work with the warehouse teams to assist with data analysis for improving storage locations as well as put-away/picking processes
  • Coordinate with internal customers revolving around tasks and knowledge of packing, deliveries, Just-In-Time and KanBan replenishments and demand visibility

Relevant majors:
Attending an accredited college/university and will be continuing your education after the internship. You must be working towards a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in:

  • Finance
  • Engineering
Minimum GPA: 3.0
