An Inventory Assistant is responsible for supporting inventory management processes to ensure accurate stock control, efficient operations, and timely replenishment.

Key duties typically include:

  • Processing incoming shipments by verifying quantities against orders and logging any discrepancies or damages.
  • Organizing and storing inventory items in designated locations with proper labeling for accessibility.
  • Conducting regular physical inventory counts and cycle audits to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Preparing outgoing orders by picking, packing, and staging items for shipment following safety standards.
  • Using inventory management systems to update real-time stock levels, movements, and order statuses.
  • Assisting in resolving discrepancies by researching transaction histories and collaborating with purchasing or sales teams.
  • Operating material handling equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks if necessary.
  • Generating inventory reports and supporting continuous improvement in inventory control processes.
  • Collaborating closely with warehouse, logistics, and quality assurance teams.
  • Maintaining compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and documentation standards.
