Inventory Assistant

Job description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working Inventory Associate to join our team. They will have prior experience in the warehouse environment and excellent math skills for balancing records. Inventory associate can expect to work long hours sometimes and might have to travel occasionally.

Inventory Associate, keeps track of the goods and supplies in a store or warehouse and manages orders to facilitate sales or production. Their duties include signing off on shipments, making price lists of products in stock by scanning them with a bar code reader/writer, counting the number of available products and placing orders for more inventory according to demand include managing all the parts or products, including recording new items in their stock room(s). They track each item as it enters the establishment through records of what’s been sold and where those goods go.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for the inventory of all supplies and products that come in or leave the facility.

Responsibilities

• Ordering inventory from vendors and suppliers and securing shipment arrival times
• Managing inventory by stocking and cataloging products for a business
• Performing quality checks on stored inventory and discarding inventory that does not meet the company’s standards
• Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders in the business
• Reporting discrepancies in inventory that indicate theft between physical counts and computer records, such as too little inventory at last count
• Implementing loss prevention programs to prevent theft
• Obtaining estimates and price details from different vendors to compare costs
• Researching the accuracy of product details and testing new products
• Maintaining and updating records
• Counting materials, equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock
• Reporting discrepancies records
• Distributing or stocking merchandise
• Receive and inventory stock
• Other various tasks as assigned

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience as an Inventory Associate or similar role
• Excellent math and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work extended hours
• Forklift experience beneficial
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
