Position Overview

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels through routine cycle counts, reconciliations, and data entry into warehouse management systems. This position ensures that product movement, storage, and documentation align with company standards for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Record and track all incoming and outgoing product movements in the inventory management system (IMS/WMS).
  • Assist in investigating and resolving inventory variances, shortages, or damages.
  • Ensure product locations are accurately labeled and stocked in accordance with FIFO and food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and warehouse teams to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
  • Generate and distribute inventory reports to management as needed.
  • Support cycle count audits, end-of-month closeouts, and vendor reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized and clean storage areas to ensure optimal space utilization.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality control guidelines set by company and regulatory agencies.
  • Cross-training in multiple warehouse functions to ensure operational flexibility and coverage across various departments.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or related field.
  • Proficient with inventory or warehouse management software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Fishbowl, or similar).
  • Strong data entry, Excel, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Compensation:

  • $16.00 to $18.00 per hour based on experience.
