IP Transmission Jr Engineer

As part of our Networks team, we are looking for candidate who will be responsible for designing and delivering the best practice solution for Mobile Backhaul for Vodafone Oman Network, He/she will work closely with RAN team to design therequired backhaul for all RAN sites.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Design and manage the development of Backhaul Network using IP/MPLS and Microwave radio transmission
• Planning and dimensioning of Backbone and Backhaul network elements like aggregation/Access Routers, IP based MW and other access network transport facilities.
• Provide backhaul solutions and coordination for survey, Plan, Design and issuance of Work orders for Fibre, DWDM and MW Links to connect New Site, relocation of existing sites to the backend Network, ensuring the desired implementation is executed
• Manage the development of an end-to-end IP network which is secure, flexible and extensible to support the delivery of both current and future services.
• Network dimensioning and capacity management.
• Creating, maintaining and implementing design guidelines and standards
• Accomplish delivery of projects in a timely manner and follow up on progress of activities.
• Maintain planning documentation and keep information current on relevant documents and Engineering Tools. Maintain updated diagrams for the Backhaul and Backbone networks of relevance.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

• Preferable to have experience in Telecommunications industry, specifically in the design of IP network, Microwave and Fibre based networks.
• Good Knowledge on the IPv4 technologies (IPv4 Address/subnetting, VLANs, IP Routing such OSPF, ISIS and BGP).
• Preferable to have strong communications, Project management and Presentation skills.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
