Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on IT and Automation Engineer to lead and manage IT infrastructure and automation systems in rugged, underground, and mining environments. This is a field-based role requiring extensive on-site presence, technical expertise, and leadership in deploying and maintaining mission-critical systems under challenging conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial IT, underground cabling, and automation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration:
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain vendor-free network infrastructure in underground and remote mining sites. Ensure high availability and reliability of LAN/WAN systems.

Cabling & Infrastructure:
Supervise and execute UTP and fiber optic cabling installations, especially in underground environments. Ensure compliance with mining safety standards and environmental conditions.

Data Center & Server Management:
Operate and maintain on-site data centers and server rooms. Manage physical and virtual servers (VMs) to support mining operations.

Security & Surveillance:
Administer access control systems and CCTV infrastructure tailored for underground and surface-level monitoring.

Project & Vendor Management:
Lead end-to-end IT and automation projects in mining contexts. Coordinate with vendors for procurement, installation, and support, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Field Support:
Provide immediate, on-site technical support for IT and automation systems. Troubleshoot issues in real-time and ensure minimal downtime.

Automation Projects:
Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency in mining processes.

Team Leadership
: Mentor and lead the site IT team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

CCNP preferred; other certifications in industrial networking, automation, or mining technologies are advantageous.

Minimum 5–6 years in IT and automation roles, with proven experience in underground and mining operations.

Expertise in network administration, underground cabling standards, server/VM management, and industrial automation systems.

Comfortable working in underground and remote mining environments with a strong focus on safety and operational continuity.
