Job Description: IT Coordinator
Location: Azizabad Block 8, Karachi
Reports to: Executive Director / Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose
To oversee the institute’s technological infrastructure, maintain hardware and software systems, and provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students. The IT Coordinator ensures that the institute’s digital environment is secure, efficient, and supportive of the academic mission.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure & Hardware Management
- Maintain and troubleshoot the institute’s Local Area Network (LAN), Wi-Fi connectivity, and internet services.
- Perform regular maintenance on computers, printers, scanners, and projectors in classrooms and administrative offices.
- Manage and configure the computer labs, ensuring all systems are updated and functional for student use.
2. Software & Database Administration
- Manage the Institute Management System (IMS) or Student Information System (SIS).
- Oversee student enrollment data entry, attendance systems, and academic record backups.
- Install and update essential software, anti-virus programs, and educational tools.
3. Technical Support & Training
- Act as the first point of contact for staff and faculty regarding technical issues (Help Desk).
- Provide basic training to faculty on using digital classrooms, LMS platforms, and multimedia tools.
- Assist the admissions team with digital marketing technicalities and database management.
4. Security & Compliance
- Implement robust data backup protocols to prevent loss of institutional records.
- Ensure the security of the institute's network against unauthorized access or malware.
- Maintain the inventory of all IT assets and handle the procurement of new hardware as needed.
5. Digital Presence Maintenance
- Coordinate with web developers to keep the institute’s website updated.
- Ensure the institute’s official email accounts and communication portals are functioning smoothly.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (BSCS/BSIT).
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in IT support, preferably within an educational or medical institute.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Networking (Router configuration, Switches, Firewall).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Office 365 Administration.
- Basic understanding of web maintenance (WordPress) and database management (SQL/Excel).
- Familiarity with CCTV surveillance systems and Biometric attendance machines.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong problem-solving skills and a "can-do" attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during enrollment cycles or exams.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Urdu.
Work Environment
- Timing: Standard office hours (e.g., 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Monday to Saturday.
- Location Advantage: Based in Azizabad Block 8, easily accessible for residents of Gulberg, FB Area, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Pay: Rs35,000.00 - Rs40,000.00 per month
