IT / Network Administrator / IT Assistant / Server Manager
Job Summary
The IT / Network Administrator / IT Assistant / Server Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the organisation's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, end-user systems, and core IT services. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of systems while providing reliable technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Systems Management
Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers
(Windows/Linux) Manage Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and
permissions
Monitor server performance, system logs, and resource utilization
Perform system patching, backups, and disaster recovery operations
Network Administration
Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and switches
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Implement network security measures and access controls
Maintain network documentation and diagrams
IT Support & Operations
Provide Level 1–3 technical support to end user
Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and
peripherals
Support onboarding/offboarding, system access, and asset management
Ensure timely resolution of IT tickets and service requests
Security & Compliance
Implement IT security policies, endpoint protection, and access
controls Monitor for security incidents and assist in incident response
Ensure compliance with internal IT standards and data protection
policies
Cloud & Virtualization (if applicable)
Manage cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)
Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) Support hybrid IT environments
Documentation & Vendor Management
Maintain IT documentation, SOPs, and asset inventory
Coordinate with vendors for hardware, software, and service support
Assist with IT procurement and license management
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux
Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs)
Hands-on experience with servers, firewalls, routers, and switches
Experience with backup, recovery, and monitoring tools
Tools & Technologies
Endpoint management and ticketing systems
Antivirus and endpoint security solutions
Virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
Network monitoring tools
Preferred Qualifications
IT certifications (CCNA, Comp TIA Network+, Microsoft, ITIL)
Experience with cloud platforms and Microsoft 365
Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash)
Experience in small-to-medium or enterprise IT environments
Soft Skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good communication and user-support orientation
Time management and multitasking abilities
Documentation and process discipline
