Position Overview

The IT Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day technology needs of the business, ensuring reliable operation of hardware, software, networks, user accounts, and office systems. The role provides hands-on technical support to employees, coordinates with vendors where required, and helps maintain secure, efficient, and business-continuity-focused IT operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line and second-line IT support to employees for desktops, laptops, printers, email, software applications, and related office systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, user devices, and standard business applications.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, access rights, and email setup for onboarding, internal changes, and employee exit processes.
  • Monitor and support local network connectivity, internet access, shared drives, printers, scanners, meeting room devices, and other office IT infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with external IT service providers, software vendors, and telecom partners to resolve issues and ensure service continuity.
  • Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets, software licenses, warranties, and assigned equipment records in line with company procedures.
  • Perform routine system checks, troubleshooting, updates, patching, antivirus monitoring, and backup verification to support security and uptime.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of Microsoft 365, file-sharing platforms, cybersecurity good practices, and endpoint protection measures.
  • Assist in preparing IT-related documentation, user guides, logs, incident records, and basic reports for management review when required.
  • Promote IT awareness and support compliance with company policies related to data protection, acceptable use, and information security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT support, systems administration, or corporate end-user support.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, printers, and standard office productivity tools.
  • Good understanding of computer hardware, software installation, troubleshooting, networking fundamentals, and device configuration.
  • Experience in managing user accounts, access permissions, antivirus solutions, backups, and routine IT maintenance activities.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues efficiently, prioritize support requests, and provide timely solutions with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management, service coordination with third-party vendors, and documentation of incidents and resolutions.
  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity practices, password controls, endpoint protection, and safe handling of company data.
  • Good communication, service orientation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to support employees across different departments.
  • UAE experience within a consultancy, engineering, or professional services environment will be considered an added advantage.
