Job Title. IT Summer Student Worker

Reports to: VP of Finance and Administration

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Nature of Work

The IT Student Worker will learn and be responsible for key tasks related to the hardware our IT Department is responsible for and will get daily direction from the Senior Database Administrator

Responsibilities

Under this direction of the VP of Finance and Administration and the Senior Database Administrator this individual will take on tasks and projects to keep our IT department moving forward including:

  • Handling hardware and software issues for our users.
  • Assist both full time IT individuals with tasks assigned to allow work to flow efficiently.
  • Communicate within the chain of command how things are moving forward and what issues may be upcoming.

Education

Working toward a bachelor’s degree in business, with a preference for major in Information Systems

Experience

Starting Sophomore level in above degree pursuit.

Demonstrated communication skills.

  • Hardware Knowledge: Be able to trouble shoot users issues and get problems resolved on both laptop and desk top machines as well as help with software updates or glitches to get end users up and running.

Work Environment:

The position is housed in an office setting within the OSU Alumni Center. Applicant must be able to focus on issues and use knowledge and software to create solutions that help the organization better utilize data and make decisions with that data. Take direction from leadership and co-workers and independently develop solutions to solve the problems presented.
