- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for employees.
- Installation and maintenance: Install, configure, and upgrade hardware, software, systems, and peripherals like printers and scanners.
- User support: Provide technical assistance to employees, which includes setting up new user accounts and training them on new software.
- System monitoring: Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Technical upkeep: Repair or replace damaged equipment and keep systems and antivirus software updated.
- Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including knowledge bases and troubleshooting guides.
- Testing: Test and evaluate new technology and software before implementation.
- Managing and troubleshooting point-of-sale systems (like Oracle Micros) and supporting Avaya telephony, virtual meetings (MS Teams, Zoom), and other restaurant IT infrastructure.
- Manage and support CCTV systems.
Essential skills and qualifications
- Experience in a technical support role.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with specific hardware, software, and network technologies relevant to the role.
- Experience with PC/POS hardware repair and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of specific POS systems like Oracle Micros.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting and firewalls (e.g., Fortigate).
- Experience with virtual environments like VMware or Hyper-V is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and soft skills.
- Ability to provide technical assistance both in person and remotely.
- Knowledge of IT policies and system maintenance.
- Good communication skills
