Job Description – IT Support Officer (Network, Server & CCTV)

IT Support Officer (Network, Server & CCTV)

Reports To:
Head of IT

Job Purpose

The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and security of the Centre’s network infrastructure, servers, and CCTV systems. The role involves troubleshooting, system monitoring, and assisting end-users to ensure smooth and reliable IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
• Administer and support servers (Windows/Linux, Active Directory, backups, user accounts).
• Install, configure, and manage CCTV systems, including cameras, recording devices, and monitoring tools.
• Respond promptly and professionally to IT support requests from staff.
• Ensure system security, data backups, and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested.
• Maintain accurate documentation of technical processes, incidents, and solutions.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects and upgrades.
• Liaise with external vendors for hardware, software, and CCTV support.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and data protection standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, CompTIA A+/Network+ are an advantage.
• Fluency in English (required).
• Proven experience in network administration, server support, and CCTV systems.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, firewalls, and network protocols.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, printers, and peripherals.
• Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
• Flexibility and willingness to work outside regular hours during emergencies.

Work Conditions

• Full-time, on-site position.
• May require occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or urgent issues.
