The Joinery & Fit-Out Site Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all site activities related to joinery, carpentry, furniture installation, interior fit-out works, and associated finishing activities. The role ensures that works are executed as per approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and agreed timelines. The Foreman acts as the key link between site labor, subcontractors, supervisors, and project management to ensure smooth and efficient execution on site.
. Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day site activities for joinery and interior fit-out works.
- Ensure all works are carried out as per approved shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and project specifications.
- Plan and allocate daily tasks to carpenters, installers, helpers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor productivity of site manpower and ensure optimum utilization.
- Coordinate installation of doors, wardrobes, vanity units, wall cladding, counters, kitchen cabinets, loose/fixed furniture, panels, ceiling features, and other joinery items.
- Ensure proper sequence of works to avoid delays, rework, or site conflicts.
2. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret shop drawings, IFC drawings, joinery details, and site instructions.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, site measurement issues, or technical constraints and report them promptly to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
- Verify site dimensions before installation and highlight any mismatch with production drawings.
- Coordinate with factory/production team for delivery priorities and installation sequence.
3. Material & Resource Management
- Check received materials against approved samples, drawings, and delivery notes.
- Ensure materials delivered to site are protected, stored properly, and used efficiently.
- Monitor site material consumption and report shortages, damages, or wastage.
- Raise site requirements for tools, consumables, hardware, and accessories in advance.
4. Quality Control
- Ensure installation works meet project quality standards and approved finishes.
- Inspect completed work areas for alignment, level, joint finish, polish/paint condition, hardware fixing, and overall workmanship.
- Rectify snags and ensure closure of comments raised by consultant, client, or QA/QC team.
- Prevent damage to finished works during and after installation.
5. Site Coordination
- Coordinate with civil, MEP, ceiling, flooring, marble, glass, and other site teams to ensure work fronts are available.
- Attend site briefings and communicate instructions clearly to workers.
- Support project team in achieving target programs and milestone handovers.
- Coordinate with logistics and factory dispatch teams for timely delivery of joinery items.
6. Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure workers follow site safety rules, PPE requirements, and permit systems.
- Maintain safe working conditions at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses immediately.
- Ensure good housekeeping in work areas, storage zones, and access routes.
7. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Provide daily updates on work progress, manpower deployment, and pending issues.
- Report delays, site obstructions, material shortages, and drawing conflicts to the reporting manager.
- Maintain records of completed works, site instructions, snags, and corrective actions.
- Support preparation of daily and weekly progress reports when required.
