The Joinery Painter is responsible for preparing wooden surfaces and applying high-quality finishes, including paints, stains, lacquers, and varnishes. In the Dubai market, this role often requires expertise in spray painting within a workshop environment to meet the luxury standards of local hotels, villas, and commercial offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: Sanding, filling, and cleaning wooden surfaces to ensure a smooth, defect-free base for painting.
  • Coating Application: Operating spray guns and other equipment to apply primers, paints, PU (Polyurethane), NC (Nitrocellulose), and water-based finishes.
  • Color Matching: Mixing and matching stains and paints to meet specific designer requirements or to match existing furniture.
  • Polishing & Buffing: Performing final polishing and buffing to achieve high-gloss, matte, or satin finishes as per project specifications.
  • Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray booths, guns, and other tools to ensure equipment longevity and a dust-free finish.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting finished products for drips, bubbles, or uneven thickness before they leave the workshop.

Requirements & Skills

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience specifically in wood joinery or furniture painting (Experience in the UAE/GCC is highly preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of wood types (MDF, Oak, Teak, etc.) and how they react to different chemicals and paints.
  • Equipment Mastery: Proficiency in using HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray systems and airless sprayers.
  • Attention to Detail: A "sharp eye" for color consistency and surface smoothness.
