Jr. Designer and Social Media Specialist

The American Culinary Federation (ACF) is seeking a creative and highly motivated Junior Designer & Social Media Specialist to help tell the story of the chefs, students and culinary professionals who make up our national community.

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable designing compelling visual content and managing engaging social media channels. The position blends graphic design and digital storytelling, helping bring the ACF brand to life across social platforms, marketing materials, and digital campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Content

  • Manage and grow ACF’s social media presence across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and emerging channels
  • Develop and schedule engaging posts that highlight chefs, culinary education, competitions, events and industry trends
  • Create short-form video and visual storytelling content optimized for social platforms
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages when appropriate and help foster an active online community
  • Track performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve engagement and reach

Graphic Design & Creative Production

  • Design social media graphics, promotional materials and digital marketing assets
  • Create branded visuals for events, webinars, educational programs, and membership campaigns
  • Assist in producing marketing collateral including email graphics, digital flyers, presentation materials and web graphics
  • Maintain brand consistency across visual content and marketing materials
  • Collaborate with the communications team on creative concepts and campaign development

Content & Campaign Support

  • Support marketing campaigns promoting ACF programs, events, certifications and membership initiatives
  • Work closely with internal teams to highlight member achievements, competitions and culinary initiatives
  • Assist in capturing and producing content at ACF events and industry gatherings when needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a communications or graphic design
  • 2–5 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, graphic design or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools
  • Strong visual storytelling skills and an eye for design
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for food, hospitality or culinary culture is highly preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Photography or basic video editing skills
  • Experience working with nonprofits, associations, or membership organizations
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and content management systems

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
