Junior Accountant – Xtra Link Transport

Position Overview

The Junior Accountant supports the Finance Department in daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions. The role focuses on maintaining proper documentation, supporting audits, and assisting with operational cost tracking, especially related to fleet, fuel, maintenance, and vendor payments.

## * Key Responsibilities*

### *1. Daily Accounting Transactions*

- Record all financial transactions in the accounting system (receipts, payments, invoices, petty cash).

- Prepare and post journal entries under supervision.

- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date ledgers for customers, suppliers, and internal accounts.

### *2. Accounts Payable & Receivable*

- Assist in processing supplier invoices, verifying supporting documents, and preparing payment requests.

- Follow up on customer payments and update aging reports.

- Ensure proper reconciliation of supplier statements and customer accounts.

### *3. Fleet & Operational Cost Tracking*

- Record fuel expenses, trip sheets, maintenance invoices, and workshop costs.

- Support monthly fleet cost analysis (fuel, repairs, tires, breakdowns, permits).

- Ensure all operational expenses are supported with proper documentation.

### *4. Bank & Cash Reconciliation*

- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations.

- Monitor petty cash usage and ensure proper replenishment and documentation.

- Assist in verifying cash collections from drivers or coordinators (if applicable).

### *5. Documentation & Compliance*

- Maintain organized financial files (contracts, invoices, LPOs, delivery notes, receipts).

- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documents.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and UAE accounting standards.

### *6. Reporting & Support*

- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, expense summaries, and cost analysis.

- Support the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in closing monthly accounts.

- Provide financial data to operations when required (fuel reports, fleet cost summaries, etc.).

## * Qualifications*

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- 1–3 years of accounting experience (transport/logistics experience is an advantage).

- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and ERP/accounting software.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).

- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
