Job Summary

The Junior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer supports the design, development, and maintenance of data-driven solutions that enhance business decision-making. This role focuses on building and maintaining interactive dashboards, basic data models, and ETL processes using modern BI and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate has foundational technical skills in BI tools and data management, paired with strong analytical thinking and communication skills to help turn business requirements into meaningful insights.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of BI dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Jasper Reports.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of data models, ETL pipelines, and semantic layers for analytics and reporting.
  • Help define and track KPIs, metrics, and visualizations aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with senior BI developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, SAP).
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across BI systems and assist in maintaining governance and security standards.
  • Optimize queries and dashboards for performance under guidance from senior team members.
  • Participate in discussions about data warehouse and data lake architecture to gain hands-on experience.
  • Document BI processes, data models, and workflows to support transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the BI team and learn from senior developers’ mentorship.

Technical Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or related areas (internships and academic projects acceptable).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Basic proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL (query writing, joins, aggregations, and stored procedures).
  • Familiarity with ETL or data integration tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, or Fabric Data Pipelines.
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts (star schema, fact/dimension tables).
  • Exposure to cloud BI platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.
  • Interest in learning Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Awareness of data governance, security, and row-level security (RLS) principles.
