We’re headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, and are currently hiring for an in-office position.

Position Summary

The Junior Designer supports the development of trend-right, consumer-focused products for Beacon Craft’s client and internal brand programs. This role assists the design team in bringing concepts from early trend research through production-ready artwork and specifications. The Junior Designer works closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams to execute creative ideas while continuing to build technical and design skills.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Focus Areas

• Product Design Execution
• Surface Art & Design
• Trend Research Support
• Team Collaboration

Product Design & Technical Support – 50%

• Assist in translating Product Development Briefs (PDBs) into design concepts.
• Help prepare product flats, mockups, and presentation materials.
• Support the development of technical specifications and production-ready files.
• Assist in preparing materials such as:
• White Box Plan-o-grams (POGs)
• Fixture mockups
• Product renderings and mockups

Surface Art, Illustration & Design – 40%

• Assist in developing original artwork while also leveraging existing designs that align with trend and product requirements, including:
• Icons
• Repeat patterns
• Typography and hand lettering
• CMF palettes and direction

Trend Research & Concept Support – 10%

• Assist in researching and identifying emerging consumer and product trends.
• Help create mood boards that communicate design direction, including color, material, finish (CMF), and graphic inspiration.
• Support the design team in monitoring retail, e-commerce, and social media for product and design trends.
• Participate in competitive research and comp shopping activities.
• Develop understanding of client brand positioning and target consumers.

Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with designers and cross-functional partners to support project timelines.
• Take direction and feedback from senior design staff to improve work quality.
• Maintain organized design files and documentation.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Bonus Qualifications (but not required)

• Passion for or experience in hands-on crafts such as fiber arts, jewelry making, or kids’ crafts.
• Eye for presentation with experience in visual merchandising.
