We're seeking a Junior Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Designer, you'll be an essential part of our design process, supporting our Senior Designer in various tasks while continuously expanding your skills and knowledge. The more your skills grow, the more your career will grow.
Description of Tasks
- Take accurate measurements of job sites. Develop drawings, renderings and sketches as necessary.
- Work with clients to finalize layout, cabinetry layout/design and product selections.
- Assist in preparing final design packages that include detailed construction documents, design specifications, fixture and material selections.
- Assist in managing and organizing digital project documentation including drawings, estimates, purchases, selections, change orders, etc.
- Assist in researching and sourcing materials and fixtures (tile, flooring, plumbing, lighting and hardware).
- Assist in managing deadline schedules for Senior Designer.
- Deliver fixtures, supplies and sample materials to job sites.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication and coordination with our team, clients, subcontractors and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contribute and collaborate during Creative Concept Design meetings.
- Keep up to date with the latest design trends, software, and industry innovations to enhance your skills and contribute fresh ideas to our projects.
- Embrace challenges with enthusiasm and demonstrate a proactive attitude to tackle new design endeavors.
Requirements/Skills:
- Must have a degree in Interior Design, or related field.
- Basic understanding of design and construction principles.
- Driving is required. Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
- Design software proficiency (Sketchup, Chief Architect, etc.).
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe, Canva
- Demonstration of relevant schoolwork and/or previous experience in the industry.
- Able to create and maintain trusted relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors and other professionals in the industry; always projecting a professional demeanor.
- Possess a high degree of time management, organization skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive learner who takes initiative, and is eager and willing to go above and beyond what is asked.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule to meet the scheduling needs of our clients and the various trades.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
