Job Title: Junior Purchaser

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Purchaser to support our procurement operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on agricultural products. The ideal candidate will assist in sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, components, and packaging specific to agricultural product manufacturing.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and confirm delivery timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and production teams to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Create and process purchase orders in the ERP system.
  • Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Support the evaluation of supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (production, quality control, finance) to align purchasing activities with business needs.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new suppliers in the agricultural sector.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in supply chain, business, or agriculture is an asset.
  • 1–2 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing or agricultural setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with agricultural products and seasonal supply cycles.
  • Basic understanding of logistics and inventory management.
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
