Junior Quantity Surveyor

JOB DESCRIPTION :

JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR (QS) – CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor (QS)
Department: Quantity Surveying
Location: Coimbatore
Reporting To: Senior QS

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of BOQ, quantity take-off, material take-off and cost estimation from drawings.
• Conduct site measurement and joint measurement with client/contractor as required.
• Help in preparing rate analysis for civil works and finishing items.
• Prepare subcontractor bills, RA bills and client bill submissions.
• Maintain records of completed works, material consumption and subcontractor productivity.
• Assist in pre- and post-contract activities, including tendering support and documentation.
• Update cost tracking sheet and project budget monitoring reports.
• Verify purchase requests with project BOQ and budget before ordering materials.
• Assist in variation claim documentation and supporting measurements.
• Support in final bill documentation and project handover measurements.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge in AutoCAD drawing reading and quantity take-off.
• Familiarity with IS codes, rate analysis and civil work specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and basic billing software.
• Good communication and coordination with site engineers, procurement and subcontractors.
• Accuracy in measurements, documentation and report preparation.

Education & Experience

• Diploma / BE in Civil Engineering.
• 0–3 years experience in QS / Billing in civil construction projects (buildings / infrastructure).

Preferred Attributes

• Willingness to visit construction sites for measurements and verification.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn senior QS responsibilities.

CTC Range (Typical Industry Standard)

• Entry level: ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month
• (Salary varies based on qualification, experience & project location.)

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
