Job Title: Junior Salesman / Backup

Job Type: Full-Time | On-site
Shift Duration: 10 hours/day (Flexible between 7:00 AM – 2:00 AM)
Working Days: 6 days a week
Experience Required: 2–3 years in a pharmacy or healthcare retail environment
Qualification: Matric (minimum); Diploma in Pharmacy/Dispensing preferred

Position Overview

Nova Pharmacy is hiring a committed and well-mannered Junior Salesman / Backup to support retail pharmacy operations. This individual will be responsible for handling prescriptions, managing customer queries, and supporting inventory upkeep and pharmacy hygiene. The role demands attentiveness, professionalism, and a strong sense of customer service.

• Ability to work cooperatively with both superiors and colleagues
• Able to read and interpret prescriptions quickly and accurately

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Handling

• Greet and assist customers warmly and professionally
• Read prescriptions accurately, confirm dosage and quantity
• Ensure product is correctly identified and consult supervisor if in doubt
• Refer to pharma guide in absence of senior staff for substitute or confirmation
• Prepare and pack items properly as per SOPs
• Generate billing slips and coordinate with cashier for payments
• Ensure customer leaves satisfied; thank and bid farewell appropriately
• Comply with policies for:
• Prescription-only items
• Return, refund, and exchange procedures
• Cold chain (fridge) items
• Short-stock protocols
• Report customer issues or pharmacy concerns to the manager
• Accept and verify returns after manager approval and update records
• Maintain accurate logs for all returned or exchanged items

2. Pharmacy Stock Management

• Understand stock movement patterns, especially high-demand items
• Prepare and submit daily lists of non-available, running, and short items
• Assist in preparing distributor-wise demand lists for procurement
• Monitor products nearing expiry and notify the pharmacy manager
• Check warehouse stock for replenishment of short/out-of-stock items

Special Responsibilities

• Operate pharmacy software to manage billing and inventory (training provided by IT)
• Maintain personal hygiene, proper uniform, and ID badge at all times
• Report any suspicious activity or theft to the Pharmacy Manager immediately
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Operations Head
