Kitchen Chef/ Commis

Doha, Qatar

Job Purpose:

Assist in food preparation and basic cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organization are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs in preparing ingredients (washing, peeling, chopping, cutting, portioning, marinating, etc.).
  • Support in cooking basic dishes as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Ensure mise-en-place (preparation before service) is ready on time.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures in line with HACCP standards.
  • Properly store food items and rotate stock as per FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Assist in receiving and checking deliveries of food supplies.
  • Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunction to supervisors.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Work as part of the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie / Sous Chef.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training/certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience as a kitchen helper, steward, or commis is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR1,800.00 - QAR2,500.00 per month
