Job Title: Kitchen Cleaner

Reports to: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Kitchen Cleaner to join our team. The role is responsible for keeping the kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, safe, and hygienic at all times, ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, sinks, ovens, stoves, refrigerators, and storage areas.
• Sweep, mop, and disinfect kitchen floors, walls, and waste areas regularly.
• Wash, dry, and properly store pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery.
• Empty, clean, and disinfect trash bins and recycling containers.
• Assist with deep-cleaning tasks (grease traps, hood filters, walk-in fridges/freezers).
• Follow hygiene, health, and safety standards (HACCP or local regulations).
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
• Support kitchen staff when required, including basic prep or organizing storage.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a cleaner, steward, or kitchen porter is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy items.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Team player with attention to detail.

Work Environment:

• Hot, humid, and busy kitchen setting.
• Frequent standing, bending, and lifting required.
• Shift-based schedule, including late nights.
