The Lab Incharge is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic’s laboratory, ensuring accuracy in test results, maintaining quality standards, and supervising lab staff and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Operations
- Oversee daily functioning of the clinic laboratory.
- Ensure timely and accurate testing, reporting, and documentation.
- Maintain lab equipment and instruments in good working condition.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards, safety protocols, and local regulatory guidelines.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
- Maintain proper record-keeping of samples, reports, and lab activities.
- Team Management
- Supervise and guide lab technicians and support staff.
- Schedule duties and ensure smooth workflow.
- Provide training to staff on procedures and safety practices.
- Inventory & Procurement
- Manage stock of reagents, chemicals, and consumables.
- Raise purchase requests and coordinate with vendors.
- Keep proper records of usage and wastage.
- Patient Care Support
- Ensure professional handling of patient samples.
- Communicate with doctors for clarifications on test requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient reports.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT).
- 1-5 years of relevant lab experience, preferably in a clinic.
- Strong knowledge of clinical testing procedures and lab equipment.
- Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations.
