• Operate lathe and shaper machines for cutting, shaping, facing, and finishing metal or wooden components
• Read and understand technical drawings, measurements, and job instructions
• Set up machines, tools, and workpieces as per job requirements
• Perform accurate measurements using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Ensure proper alignment and tool positioning before operation
• Maintain machine safety standards and follow SOPs
• Check finished components for quality, dimensions, and surface finish
• Carry out basic machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, minor adjustments)
• Report machine faults, tool wear, or defects to the supervisor
• Maintain production records and daily output reports
