Job Description:
To oversee all aspects of human resource management, industrial relations, and administrative functions. The HR Manager ensures the availability of skilled manpower, maintains statutory compliance, fosters a productive work environment, and supports organizational efficiency and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment, Staffing & Manpower Planning
- Plan and execute recruitment for staff, technicians, and labors/loaders based on operational requirements.
- Conduct interviews, manage on boarding, and ensure proper induction for all new hires.
2. Employee & Industrial Relations
- Maintain harmonious relations between management, staff, and workers.
- Handle worker grievances, disciplinary matters, and ensure compliance with labor laws and Standing Orders.
- Coordinate with factory supervisors and union/worker representatives (if applicable) for smooth communication.
- Prepare documentation and represent the company before labor authorities or during inspections.
3. Training & Skill Development
- Identify training needs for technical and administrative personnel.
- Organize safety, compliance, and process improvement training.
- Promote multi-skilling and job rotation to enhance workforce flexibility.
4. Attendance, Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Supervise time office and attendance management through biometric or manual systems.
- Manage payroll processing, overtime, and leave records.
- Ensure timely payment and compliance with statutory requirements:
- Maintain all statutory registers, records, and returns for both factory and warehouse operations.
5. Performance Management
- Implement and monitor the annual performance review process.
- Support department heads in defining KPIs for production, maintenance, logistics, and administration teams.
- Recommend increments, promotions, and performance-linked incentives.
6. Health, Safety & Welfare
- Work to ensure a safe and compliant workplace in production and warehouse areas.
- Coordinate fire drills, PPE distribution, and safety awareness sessions.
- Supervise employee welfare facilities—canteen, uniforms, transport, first-aid, and restrooms.
7. HR Policies, Records & Systems
- Maintain and update HR policies and employee handbooks in line with company values and compliance requirements.
- Ensure accurate HR documentation—appointment letters, contracts, personal files, and separations.
- Maintain HRIS or digital employee records for better data management.
8. Employee Engagement & Administration
- Plan employee welfare and engagement programs to improve morale and retention.
- Manage administrative functions such as housekeeping, security, and facility management for the unit.
- Support management in communication and change management initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Employee retention and absenteeism rates.
- Labor law compliance (zero penalties/observations).
- Training hours and skill improvement results.
- Employee engagement and grievance resolution metrics.
- Cost efficiency in HR operations (overtime, absenteeism, manpower utilization).
Requirements
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of factory and labor laws.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and HR/payroll software.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Experience: 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in an industrial project.
