Position Overview:
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Production Head to oversee all aspects of our tannery production. You will be responsible for managing the entire production process from raw hide to finished leather, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This is a senior leadership role critical to our operational success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Management: Plan, organize, direct, and control all tannery operations including Beamhouse, Tanning, Retanning, Dyeing, Fat liquoring, and Finishing.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a large team of shift managers, supervisors, and technicians. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all production meets the highest international quality standards (SLTC, etc.) and customer specifications. Maintain strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Process Optimization: Continuously analyze production processes to improve yield, reduce waste, minimize chemical/water usage, and enhance productivity. Implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Cost Control: Manage the production budget, control operational costs (materials, labor, overheads), and drive initiatives to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with Planning, Procurement, and Commercial teams to align production schedules with raw material availability and customer delivery commitments.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on chemical formulations, machinery settings, and troubleshooting production issues. Liaise with the Maintenance department for equipment uptime.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed production reports, KPIs (OTD, Yield, Efficiency, Capacity Utilization), and analysis to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Leather Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. An MBA would be a plus.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in tannery operations, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role (as Production Manager, Plant Manager, or similar).
• In-depth technical knowledge of the complete leather manufacturing process, especially for finished leather (crust/finished).
• Proven track record of improving production efficiency, yield, and quality in a tannery setting.
• Strong understanding of environmental compliance, effluent treatment, and workplace safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems. SAP experience is highly desirable.
