Landscape Maintenance technician

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, pruning trees, and shrubbery to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
• Operate lawn care equipment including mowers, blowers, trimmers, and aerators efficiently and safely
• Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and installing hardscape features like pathways or retaining walls
• Use hand tools and power tools skillfully for landscape installation, maintenance, and repair projects
• Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe
• Maintain safety standards by properly handling equipment like excavators or other construction machinery when needed

Experience

• Prior experience in landscaping or horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for operating and troubleshooting various power tools and machinery such as excavators or irrigation systems
• Familiarity with lawn care techniques including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control
• Knowledge of tree care practices including trimming, pruning, and health assessment
• Ability to perform general maintenance tasks related to landscape infrastructure using hand tools or construction equipment
• Strong understanding of gardening principles and hardscape installation processes
• Valid driver’s license preferred; experience with snow plowing or other seasonal outdoor maintenance is a plus

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
