Duties

Must know how to throw SOD #1

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, watering, and weed control to keep outdoor areas healthy and attractive
• Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and hardscape machinery safely and efficiently
• Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, planting, and health assessments while adhering to safety protocols
• Manage landscape installations involving planting beds, hardscape features like patios or walkways, and garden structures
• Apply pesticides or herbicides responsibly following safety guidelines to control pests and weeds effectively
• Maintain equipment through routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents or injuries

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools for operation and maintenance
• Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, lawn care, tree care, and groundskeeping practices
• Ability to identify various plants, trees, shrubs, weeds, pests, and beneficial insects with confidence
• Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting for efficient water management
• Familiarity with pesticide management including proper handling and application techniques
• Hands-on outdoor work experience in diverse weather conditions with a focus on safety compliance
• Excellent understanding of horticulture principles related to plant health and landscape design principles
