Law Clerk

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a law student from the University at Buffalo School of Law looking to gain hands-on legal experience and exposure to a wide variety of legal tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare legal documents, pleadings and filings in an efficient and detail manner.
• Use initiative, judgment, stateoftheart processes and an awareness of company objectives and functions to provide administrative support including word processing, filing, record keeping and preparing correspondence for the Administrative team.
• Welcome and orient visitors and callers in a professional and timely manner. Process telephone calls. Develop a familiarity and rapport with frequent callers, legal representatives and vendors. Obtain all pertinent information, such as name, function, purpose of call to adequately prepare the appropriate team member to respond.
• Distribute mail and faxes immediately upon receipt. Coordinate courier, FedEx, dispatch and receiving functions.
• Type correspondence, memos, transmittals, reports and other documents as needed. Accurately and thoroughly prepare all legal documents including contracts, leases, LOI’s, etc.
• Prepare financial packages for banks.
• Create and maintain the client files. Manage filing system, legal files, ensure organization and accuracy.
• Order office supplies and equipment as needed.
