Job Summary:

Bistro to Go is looking for an experienced and friendly Lead Barista to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced coffee shop environment while helping guide the team during each shift.

The Lead Barista works alongside the team preparing high-quality drinks and serving customers while also helping supervise the shift, ensuring procedures, service standards, and workflow run smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and enjoys supporting a team while delivering a great customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Customer Service

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to standard recipes
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment efficiently
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests and taking orders accurately
• Engage with customers, make recommendations, and create a welcoming atmosphere

Lead Barista / Shift Supervisor Duties

• Supervise the shift while working as a barista alongside the team
• Ensure service standards and drink quality are consistently maintained
• Help guide baristas during busy periods to keep service running smoothly
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned
• Answer team questions and help resolve minor issues during the shift
• Communicate any operational concerns or supply needs to management

Operations & Team Support

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar and seating areas
• Assist in preparing light food items, pastries, sandwiches, and other bistro offerings
• Restock supplies and help monitor inventory levels
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain food and beverage quality standards
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately
• Work as part of a team to support the overall success of the bistro

Requirements

• Previous barista experience preferred
• Experience in a lead, shift supervisor, or management role required
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to stay organized and keep the team focused during busy shifts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Friendly, positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
