ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Benefits Specialist to join our Total Rewards team in Herndon, VA.
We are looking for an independent self-starter who is a strong multitasker and a resourceful-results oriented thinker. The Lead Benefits Specialist will report to the Executive Director, Total Rewards and provide critical analytical and technical support in the implementation, administration, compliance, and delivery of all MANTECH’s benefit programs (Health and Welfare, 401k/retirement, etc.).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Oversee benefit administration providers and vendor partners to ensure all employee benefit programs are administered in accordance with plan documents and all applicable regulations (e.g., ACA, DOL), including managing audit requests.

Effectively manage complex, time-sensitive benefit projects (e.g., open enrollment, new program implementation, plan document updates, audits) with outsourced providers to ensure successful outcomes and high customer satisfaction.

Serve as the subject matter expert on benefit programs, providing consultative support and fostering collaborative relationships with key internal partners (HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal) and external stakeholders.

Develop and design comprehensive communication strategies and materials to educate and engage participants, ensuring all regulatory communication requirements are met.

Prepare analytics on plan utilization and participant engagement data; identify trends, opportunities, and recommend modifications to improve programs, policies, and streamline administration.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or another field

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in management of benefit programs

Up-to-date knowledge of employee benefit plans, including health & welfare and retirement plans

Demonstrable ability to think strategically, analytically, and critically to break down complex concepts, manage risks, and resolve employee escalations.

Solid project management and organizational skills combined with strong experience in vendor management, ensuring deadlines are met with a keen attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparing benefit materials, coordinating presentations, and a demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and foster relationships.

Must be a self-starter, able to work with little direction, handle several complex projects simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines while exercising professionalism and solid judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA), highly preferred

Certifications such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)

Experience in Government Contracting Industry

HR Systems experience, preferably Workday
Physical Requirements:

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity tools.

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
