Lead Dental Assistant – Admire Dental, Fort Collins, CO

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Dental Assistant to join our brand-new dental office at Admire Dental. This pivotal role combines expert chairside assistance with leadership responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. As a Lead Dental Assistant, you will be part of building something great from the ground up, serving as a key liaison between patients, dental practitioners, and administrative staff, while fostering a welcoming environment and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your expertise in dental procedures, technology, and team coordination will help shape our practice and create exceptional patient experiences.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert chairside assistance across various dental specialties, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Lead and mentor dental assisting team members to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Manage and optimize the use of EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic) for accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical records.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, strictly following aseptic techniques for infection control.
  • Assist with dental procedures by taking vital signs, performing medical imaging (including 3D scans and X-rays), and maintaining proper patient positioning for adults and children.
  • Oversee inventory control and ordering of dental supplies, ensuring treatment rooms and clinical areas are fully stocked.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Coordinate with the dental receptionist to streamline patient scheduling, documentation, and billing processes, including medical coding.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures to support efficient workflow.
  • Oversee infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in accordance with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
  • Proficiency in chairside assisting, X-ray operation, vital signs measurement, and infection control is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential or interest in mentoring dental assistants or clinical staff.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and procedures is desirable.
  • Certification in radiography (X-ray) required; additional certifications in medical terminology or advanced imaging are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, team members, and external providers.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, including 3D scanners and advanced medical imaging tools.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 35.0 per week
