Lead Dispatcher - Quincy, MA

Transdev in Quincy, MA is hiring a Lead Dispatcher. Our Lead Dispatcher ensures the Dispatch team fills all the routes and provides Operators with timely instructions and responses. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee road service and trip performance measures, i.e. route start time, on-time performance, incidents
• Respond to customer questions and concerns about no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
• Manage vehicle operator emergency situations & escalated calls.
• Supervise staff on weekends and evenings.
• Manage department reports and other communication tools.
• Support the Dispatch Supervisor in training new employees.
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and with paratransit

scheduling software (and preferably ADEPT) and the ability to learn new software

• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to supervise others
• Excellent knowledge of The RIDE service area streets, landmarks, and institutions,

including all major trip generators and transfer points

• Excellent knowledge of traffic patterns and their Impact on paratransit operations
• Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and on a two-way

communication device

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience

as a paratransit driver is a plus

• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Must be able to work flexible schedules as needed.
• Majority of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
• Majority of work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
• The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
